Jenna wanted to do a long bike ride for her birthday date. So we went down to DC and road the Mount Vernon Trail that goes along the Potomac river from Roosevelt Island to Mount Vernon. Here's a link to more information about the trail and a map. http://www.bikewashington.org/trails/vernon/index.php It was a great ride! Beautiful views and nice paved trail. It was 18 miles each way!
Yeah we were a bit too adventurous! 36 miles was a lot further than we should have gone, but we sure enjoyed the challenge! Jenna is always up for a challenge, we just couldn't turn around before we made it to the end of the trail. Our return trip was a little slower, but we made it back and just have few sore muscles to prove we did it!
