Christmas Fun

We had a great Christmas this year! Santa was good to us.

Santa brought us an electric go cart. Yeah even Jenna had some fun driving it!

Carmel Apples

In honor of the Fall Season, we decided to make some Caramel Apples last night! They were delicious! I think Drew skipped eating the apple and just ate the caramel off the outside of the apples! He knows that good stuff! We'll be carving pumpkins on Wednesday and hope to get them up on the blog!

Mount Vernon Bike Ride

Jenna wanted to do a long bike ride for her birthday date. So we went down to DC and road the Mount Vernon Trail that goes along the Potomac river from Roosevelt Island to Mount Vernon. It was a great ride! Beautiful views and nice paved trail. It was 18 miles each way!

Yeah we were a bit too adventurous! 36 miles was a lot further than we should have gone, but we sure enjoyed the challenge! Jenna is always up for a challenge, we just couldn't turn around before we made it to the end of the trail. Our return trip was a little slower, but we made it back and just have few sore muscles to prove we did it!

Trip to Mackinac Island

Our Oregon Trip

We got back late Thursday/early Friday from our trip to Oregon. We had a great time with Joe, Edith, Sofia and Dad Smith!

Trip to US Botanic Gardens

Today we checked out the US Botanic Gardens. The kids really loved
all the interesting plants. They had a big display of Orchids. Here's a link to the website. http://www.usbg.gov/

33 inches of snow

It stopped snowing Saturday around 4pm. But we got 33 inches of
snow. A new record for the area. We dug the cars out and our front
sidewalk. I mean I dug us out. Yeah I'm sore! Kids have loved digging
snow caves, climbing snow mountains and wading through the snow.

Just a little snow...

The forecast was correct, we got a ton of snow dumped on us last night. We woke up to more than 18 inches outside and it is still snowing.

When we moved here from Michigan we thought we had escaped this stuff! Here are some pictures of the neighborhood, our buried cars, and a snow tunnel Morgan and Ethan dug.
